In a review of Alela Diane's new CD "To Be Still" - which is excellent in my opinion - in February the ISB was mentioned on the website of the  newspaper of my hometown and I'm reading every day! I'm surprised the name is known here at all.

Mit "To Be Still" könnte dieser Status tatsächlich passé sein.

Auf "To Be Still" verleiht sie ihren schnörkellosen, oft wundersamen Folk-Skizzen nun einige zusätzliche (Klang-)Farben.

"At the end of my time / I call to the dark / Take the bones of my back", singt Alela Diane hier. Soweit ist es hoffentlich lange noch nicht.

Movie poster for "L'Heure d'ete / Summer Days", France 2008
Soundtrack has songs of the ISB.
There's a trailer with "Little Cloud" available on YouTube and other video sources.

I found cover versions of two ISB songs, which where played at the Kildemose Festival 2006 (18. August) in Denmark whilst an "Incredible String Band Jam". One song is "Minotaurs Song", the second is "Waltz of the New Moon", although it is titled "A Very Cellular Song". They are title number 4 and 5, so maybe there were played more than these songs. Both are downloadable as mp3-files.

Although it will be difficult I'll try to collect sound files for a third volume of Ephemera. If you find one please let me know. I have the following:

- "John Peel's Scottish Sessions", 25.12.2009 BBC Radio Scotland
- The Buggers - The Echoing Green
- "Likki Missing" (audio of youtube video)
-
Dulcimerea: Painting Box (instrumental)
- Peter Bereza: Robot Reggae (1980)
- A Tiny Window: (Water, Water) Heaven's Daughter (10/03/2009)
- John Peel about "Hangman's" / You Get Brighter
- "Puppet Song", A capella sung by an unkown woman (youtube  video)
- Al Stewart: "
Beleeka Doodle Day"
- "Blue Moon"
- Vision of Sunshine: Vision of Sunshine (incl: "May the Long Time Sunshine ...")
- Boards of Canada: "Smallest Weird Number"
- Wonk - "Cellular (Lord Summerisle is My Co-Pilot Mix)"

There's another obscure record made for the American Forces Radio And Television Service (AFRTS), which has a selection of tracks of "U" and tracks by Ginger Baker's Airforce.

ISB-Tracks:
Time
Walking Along With You
Bridge Theme
Astral Plain Theme
Robot Blues
Partial Belated Overture

MAYBE OF INTEREST:

CD: Alela Diane - Pirate's Gospel

3CD + DVD: Sandy Denny at the BBC

I've just watched the Bickershaw DVD, which in my opinion is dissapointing.
However, here is the content regarding the ISB:
It begins and ends with 'Second Fiddle' as background music. Other "No Ruinous Feud" tracks are used as backgrund through out the film too: 'Explorer', 'Down Before Cathay', 'Jigs'.
The ISB part itself has only a few seconds of original video footage and sound of "Weather The Storm". The sound is a mixture of the original recording with the recording of the album. The short original film is mixed with fotos of the band from the festival and mainly others.

Referring to Rolf -Same procedure as every year- here my favourites of 2007, which were new for me:

EPHEMERA

I've collected some soundclips - intros, interviews, songs of other artists etc. - which I put together to a CD and call "Ephemera". Every weekend I put a few tracks as mp3 files on this site for downloading. At the end - preferably without gaps between the tracks - the whole thing has a playtime of about one hour.
